We are pleased to welcome you to the CSAM-SMCA 2022 Scientific Conference, Canada’s top education and networking event for addiction medicine practitioners.

On this page, you’ll find everything you need to log into our event platform, set up your profile, and take part in the virtual event.

Setting Up Your Profile

When you registered for the conference, we sent you an email with a unique link to the conference platform. Click this link to begin the process of setting up your account.

Step 1: In the top right-hand corner, under your profile, click on the dropdown menu and select Account. Once you are in the account section you can upload a profile image and update personal details including your name, title and contact information.

Step 2: Once you’ve completed the profile, click Update.

Attending a Virtual Session During the Virtual Conference

Please note that this option is only available to those who are attending the virtual event. In-person attendees will not be able to watch sessions on the platform during the live event. In-person attendees will have access to the virtual event automatically.

First, click on Program (in the top menu) and find a session of interest to you. Click on the session name, and you’ll see a session card with the title, time and details of the session. The “Join Session” button will appear when the session is live — simply click this button to join the session.

Once in the session, you can ask questions, take part in live polls and engage in live chat with other attendees in real time.

On-demand viewing will be available after the conference when recordings are uploaded to the platform.

Re-Watching Session

If you’re re-watching a session, you can still connect with speakers and exhibitors using the private messaging options. Please refer to the Overview of Platform Features for more details.

Digital Poster Presentations

All digital poster presentations will appear on the Program including speaker and session information. This will also include steps on how to speak with a speaker directly through the system.

Please follow the steps below to join the research briefs session:

Step 1: Click on the Program Tab.

Step 2: Pick a digital poster presentation and click on Join Session.

Step 3: Once you are in the session, the description section of the session includes all the information to directly speak to the research brief speaker.

Networking Tools

Our virtual platform comes with an advanced search feature that lets you find peers, colleagues, speakers, and exhibiting sponsor representatives. Search by first name, last name, credentials, job title, sponsor name, phone number, keywords in their personal description and networking interests. Simply click on the home/reception page then click on people and search for your respective speaker or attendee name you are looking for.

Once you have selected and entered a person’s profile, you will be able to:

  • Let them know you would like to meet them by clicking the meet button and scheduling a 1:1 meeting when they’re available.
  • Send them a private message using the chat button.

 

If someone would like to schedule a meeting with you, how/where do you accept the meeting?

You will get a notification on Hubilo notifying you of the request to accept or ignore a meeting. All your meeting invites will show under the Meeting tab on the event page.

When you send a meeting request, the meeting will show in pending status under the Meeting tab, until the other party accepts your request.

Once the other party accepts your meeting request, the meeting will show an “approved ” status and you can connect with the other party by clicking “Join Meeting”.

Attendee and Exhibitor Directories

Use the searchable directories to find the people you want to connect with.

Private Messaging

Use the Chat and Meet buttons to connect with other attendees, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors through in-platform messaging, private group networking, and one-on-one chat.

Appointment Scheduling and Video Meetups

Schedule a one-on-one or private group meeting before and during the conference by clicking the Meet button on another attendee’s profile, and then proposing a time and date. The recipient will receive a meeting request and will have the option to accept or reject it. The duration of each one-on-one meeting is 15 minutes.

Online Engagement

Visit virtual exhibit booths and meet booth staff via video by clicking the Meet button.

Exhibitors Hall

In-person attendees can visit exhibitors on-site in Saskatoon Nov. 3-5. Virtual attendees can view the virtual booth profile by clicking on the name and it will display all the details about the exhibitors along with their contact details, social media links and relevant brochures.

Activity Feed

On the event feed, attendees can interact with other participants by posting photos or videos on the feed or engage with other attendees by liking or commenting on their post.

How to post photos or videos on the event feed:

  • Click on the Activity feed.
  • Click on the Attach icon to attach Photos or videos along with your post.
  • Click on the Introduce icon, to create an introduction post.

Virtual Event System Requirements

When the virtual event takes place two weeks following the in-person conference, all registered attendees (both in-person and virtual) will be able to view the sessions from the live event. In addition, attendees will be able to continue to network and chat.

You will need a desktop or laptop computer to take part. Most computers purchased within the past few years will suffice.

Operating System:

  • Mac: Mac OSX 10.7 or later
  • Windows: Windows 10, 8, 8.1, 7, Vista (SP1 or later), XP (SP3 or later)
  • Ubuntu: 12.04 or later
  • Linux: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4 or higher

 

Web Browser:

  • We strongly recommend using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browsers. Due to limitations, attendees in Safari, Firefox, or other browsers may experience difficulty.

 

Hardware(recommended for maximum experience but not required)

  • Webcam
  • The microphone and speakers that are built-in to most computers are adequate, but a headset with a mic or a stand-alone microphone will create a richer, cleaner sound.

 

Mobile Web:

  • Smartphone with web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari recommended).
